Asana

A PM org, transformed in a day.

The Challenge

Asana's product management organization had a clear vision: evolve PMs into builders who ship, capable of contributing across the full software development lifecycle. Execution was the gap. Tool access was fragmented across teams, and capability was uneven. The team had the conviction. They did not yet have the hands-on path to get there.

The Engagement

021Shift delivered a full-day on-site workshop in three phases. Pre-work cleared tool access, aligned with IT, and set the ground so every PM could start building on day one. An opening session reframed the PM role, led by senior product builders who had already operated at the level Asana wanted its PMs to reach. A hands-on build then had each PM ship a personal project alongside a shared feature exercise, teaching one another throughout the day.

The Outcome
Within days, PMs shipped production changes to customers.
A feature that had sat in the backlog for six months became a working prototype with customer insights.
Adjacent teams immediately requested the same training.
Across four cities — San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Warsaw — every PM could build and ship by the end of the day, regardless of starting point.

“This is meaningfully different from any training we had done before. There was far more pre-work to make the live day productive, the depth of the hands-on work was unlike anything we had experienced as a PM team, and we walked away with resources we could use for an entire year. The day after, our product design team was already asking when they could do it too.”

RealTime Networks

Six months of development. Two weeks to deliver.

The Challenge

RealTime Networks had fragmented AI experimentation across the company with no shared operating model. They had identified a potentially valuable opportunity but shelved it as impractical — the estimate was roughly six months with a full team.

The Engagement

After their CTO and product lead attended an "Agentic AI for Product Teams" workshop, 021Shift ran a company-wide session at RealTime's offices, customized to their stack, architecture, and codebases. The work shifted the team from "where can we add AI?" to designing agentic workflows with defined roles, control loops, and verification steps.

The Outcome
A functional prototype was delivered in about two weeks — work previously estimated at six months.
Zero new AI hires were required; the existing engineering team delivered it.
A previously rejected opportunity became viable and was pursued.
The company moved from experimental fragmentation to a single, aligned approach.

“There are projects we just wouldn't have touched before. Now they're viable.”
